How to Check Your Electricity Bill Online

The electricity bill online check in Pakistan takes only a few seconds, and the one thing you need is one number from your bill. Here is how it works.

  1. Pick which number you have. The box at the top has two options, Reference Number and Consumer ID. Both numbers are printed on your bill, so choose the one you can see.
  2. For a reference number, you do not need to pick a company, because the portal finds it from the number. For a consumer ID, a company dropdown appears, so choose your electricity company from the list.
  3. Type the number in and tap Check Bill. You can paste it with spaces, and the form cleans it up for you.
  4. Your official bill opens from the PITC portal in a new tab, where you can view it, download it, or print it.

You can also pick your company from the list below, and it will take you to a page made just for that company.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to check electricity bill online?
Enter your reference number in the box at the top of this page and tap Check Bill. You do not need to pick your company, because the portal detects it from the number. If you have your consumer ID instead, switch the toggle to Consumer ID, enter the number, and choose your company from the dropdown that appears. Your bill opens in a new tab on the official PITC portal, with the amount and the due date, and you can save it as a PDF or print it from there if you need a copy.
Can I check my electricity bill without the reference number?
Yes. The consumer ID, also called the customer ID, works too. Switch the box at the top of this page to Consumer ID, enter the number, and pick your company from the dropdown. It is the shorter account number printed near the reference number on your bill. Beyond these two numbers there is no other lookup, so a CNIC or a name will not open a bill.
Can I check my electricity bill by CNIC?
No. The PITC portal looks up bills only by the reference number or the consumer ID, not by your CNIC or your name. If you do not have your reference number, you can find it on an older bill or a payment receipt, where it stays the same every month.
Is it free, and do I need to sign up?
It is free, and you do not need an account, a sign up, or a password. You just enter your reference number and your bill opens. Nothing is charged and nothing is installed.
What is the reference number on an electricity bill?
The reference number is the long number, usually around 14 digits, printed at the top of your bill. It identifies your connection and stays the same every month. It is the number you use to check or pay your bill.
How to check if my electricity bill is paid or not?
Open your bill on the PITC portal using your reference number. A paid bill shows that the payment has been received, while an unpaid bill still shows the amount due and the due date. After you pay, the status can take a day or two to update, so check again later if it still shows as due.
Can I download my electricity bill?
Yes. When you check your bill here, the official bill opens from the PITC portal, and once it loads you can keep a copy. Use your browser's Print option, Ctrl+P on a computer or the share or menu button on a phone, and choose Save as PDF. The saved file is the official duplicate of your current bill, which is useful for your own records, or when a bank or a landlord asks for a copy.
What is protected and unprotected in an electricity bill?
A protected consumer is a home user who stays under a set monthly usage level and gets a lower subsidized rate, while an unprotected consumer uses more and pays a higher rate. The exact usage limit can change with government tariff decisions, so it is not a fixed figure. Your category is shown on your bill, and you can check the current NEPRA rules for the latest limit.
What is the slab rate on my electricity bill?
Your units are priced in slabs, which are steps of monthly usage. The first units fall in the lowest slab with the lowest rate, and as your monthly units grow they cross into higher slabs, where each unit costs more. That is why a small rise in usage can make the bill grow faster than you expect, and why keeping your monthly units lower can keep you in a lower slab. The exact slabs and rates are set by NEPRA, and the slab breakdown for your month is printed with your bill.
What is FPA (Fuel Price Adjustment) on my electricity bill?
FPA stands for Fuel Price Adjustment. It is a month to month adjustment that reflects what fuel actually cost to generate electricity in an earlier month. When fuel cost more than your tariff assumed, FPA appears as an extra charge, and when it cost less, it can come back as a credit in your favor. The exact amount is different every month, and it is printed on its own line on your bill.
What are peak and off-peak hours?
Peak hours are the busy evening hours when demand for electricity is highest, and off-peak is the rest of the day. If your connection has a time-of-use meter, units used in peak hours cost more, while many ordinary home meters are not time-of-use, so this may not apply to you. The usual peak windows are 5pm to 9pm from December to February, 6pm to 10pm from March to May, 7pm to 11pm from June to August, and 6pm to 10pm from September to November, and all other hours are off-peak. NEPRA sets these timings and can revise them, so confirm the timings printed on your own bill.
Is this website official?
No, this is an independent free tool, and it is not a government or official site. The bill itself opens on the official PITC portal at bill.pitc.com.pk, which is the official source, and we never create or change any bill. We only take you to your official bill so you can view it, save it, or print it.
